December 7-8, Leipzig, Germany
we regret to announce that the RSD 2021 in December in Leipzig must be cancelled. This is related to official regulations but also to our wish to keep you safe and healthy.
Last Friday, the German parliament has launched the Infection Protection Act. As a consequence, the Saxon State government published a Corona-Emergency-Ordinance, which has brought a large number of restrictions and makes our conference impossible. This is related to the relatively high and continuously increasing Corona numbers in Saxony.
In parallel, the Robert-Koch-Institute (RKI, German federal government agency and research institute responsible for disease control and prevention) has declared a large number of further countries as high-risk-areas, including Belgium, the Netherlands and the UK, which makes travelling from there to RSD very complicated if not impossible. This was set active on November 21.
Therefore, cancelling the RSD 2021 in December in Leipzig is the only option. But we would like to do it next year or near future, and hope to see you there. We keep you informed.
We apologize for any inconveniences and wish you all the best. Stay healthy.
